New Ministers Hill Panchayat (NMHP), Ward-16 Action Committee, has expressed gratitude to its office bearers, youth volunteers, and colony members for their continued efforts in maintaining safety and order, particularly through roster duty at the Viewpoint area.
In a press release issued by Action Committee convenor Vevotso Medeo, the Panchayat acknowledged the persistent challenges posed by anti-social elements despite years of community efforts. It noted that activities such as public drinking, theft, vandalism, noise pollution, and other disruptive behaviours have caused insecurity and disturbed the peace of the colony.
The release stated that daily roster duty at Viewpoint over the past few months has helped bring the situation under control, with visible improvements. While acknowledging occasional difficulties in dealing with individuals, the Panchayat appreciated the cooperation received from most residents. It also warned that those who violate Panchayat directives or fail to cooperate will continue to face penalties.
Highlighting the significance of Viewpoint, which houses prominent institutions like the Cathedral Church and Little Flower School, the colony emphasized the need to preserve a peaceful atmosphere around these landmarks.
The Panchayat extended its appreciation to law enforcement agencies and the general public for their support. It reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the colony and announced that default fees collected from violators are being utilized for developmental activities such as installing street lights, CCTV cameras, and public awareness banners.
Further, the Panchayat appealed to all residents to support the colony’s initiatives, maintain cleanliness, and use designated dustbins.
