The three-day long 23rd general conference of Nagaland Medical Students’ Association (NMSA) concluded on October 11 at ATI Complex, Kohima held under the theme “Learn to serve humanity.”
On the third day, NMSA conducted a blood donation drive in collaboration with Nagaland State Blood Transfusion Council, Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) and Blood Bank, Naga Hospital Authority, Kohima (NHAK), a press release from NMSA informed.
Medical officer, Blood Bank, NHAK Dr. Apila Sangtam briefed the account of blood donation drive.
Blood donation instead has many health cons including anti-cancer benefits, maintains healthy heart and liver and good health, she said.
26 voluntary medical students donated blood after a basic health screening.
The programme was followed by a thanksgiving session chaired by Mesano Peseyie which was graced by the speaker Viketuo Chupuo and concluded with the consecration of the new office bearers for tenure 2019-2021.
The new team is being led by Kuveluzo Chizo as president.
