NMSYO holds 37th Sports Meet

DIMAPUR, SEP 28 (NPN)

Northern Maram Students and Youth Organization (NMSYO) hosted its 37th Biennial Sports Meet on September 26 at Lamsyipou (Lairouching), Maram, with Advisor for Prisons, Printing & Stationery, Er. Kropol Vitsu, gracing the event as the special guest.
In his keynote address, Er. Kropol highlighted that the sports meet was much more than a celebration of athletic talent. It symbolized a reaffirmation of the deep-rooted historical bond and enduring friendship between the communities. He praised NMSYO for its sustained commitment to fostering unity, leadership, and healthy competition among the youth.
“It was deeply heartening to witness the spirit of brotherhood and unity that continues to bind our communities. We must remain committed to preserving and strengthening this sacred bond forged through generations,” he remarked.
Paying tribute to the Maram tribe’s historic resilience and valor, Er. Kropol recalled their courageous defense of the Viswema villagers against the forces of the Manipur King—a defining moment of solidarity etched into the collective memory of both communities.
“The Marams have always stood tall in the face of adversity. Their courage and loyalty are not only part of our shared history but also a guiding inspiration for our future,” he added.
The sports meet provided an engaging platform for youth participation in constructive activities, while simultaneously fostering cultural pride and promoting communal harmony. The event served as a powerful reminder of the shared past and the collective responsibility to build a united and peaceful future.
