NMUI dismayed by court case against MBBS students

Nagaland Medicos Union Imphal (NMUI), Regional Institute of Medical Science (RIMS) Imphal, has expressed displeasure over dragging Naga students of 2015 MBBS batch in to the court by Md Inzamul Hoque Talukdar who filed a case against the state government and students. The court is scheduled to hear the case on September 29.
In a press release, NMUI secretary Pelerieto said the innocent students attending hearing was “waste of time, money and energy” and condemned Talukdar for his action against the Naga students. NMUI urged Manipur government to ensure that quota seats reserved for Nagaland students were not be taken away by non-indigenous Nagas.  Further, NMUI expressed dismay that Patient House has not been set up for Naga patients in Imphal. In spite of repeated requests, it said the authorities did not pay any heed. NMUI also emphasised the need to set up a medical college in the state with all modern facilities. Affirming that it would continue to safeguard the interest of Naga medicos in particular and Nagaland in general, NMUI appealed to all governmental and non-governmental settings to join hands towards protecting the rights and interest of society.
