NMUSC win PL fan clubs friendship cup

Braving the heavy downpour, four Premier League fan clubs from Nagaland took their love for football to the turf and played a friendship cup at IG Stadium, here on Saturday.
Nagaland-Manchester United Supporters Club defeated Official Liverpool Supporters Club Nagaland 2-0 in the final and emerged as the winner.
Earlier in the first match of the tourney, Official Liverpool Supporters Club Nagaland overcame Chelsea Fans Nagaland 4-1.
While in the second match Nagaland- Manchester United Supporters Club defeated Arsenal Nagaland 5-0.
In the Exhibition Match for 35 years and above, which was another attraction where a tag team of two teams each played against each other: Nagaland- Manchester United Supporters Club & Arsenal Nagaland won 2-1 against Chelsea Fans Nagaland & Official Liverpool Supporters Club Nagaland.
Organizers said this was a first of its kind event in Nagaland also a first timer for all the fan clubs.
They exhuded confidence that similar events would be organised even in the future to help develop friendship among the fan clubs and also to promote the game in the State.
The clubs earlier organises their own events mostly for their own fan base and rarely involved other fan clubs therefore this event was a good opportunity come together, one of the organisers said.
This year’s host were the Chelsea Fans Nagaland who also sponsored the trophy.
