The Network of Nagaland Drugs and AIDS Organisation (NNagaDAO) has informed all its constituent partners that the network has initiated a non-cooperation movement against YR Gaitonde Centre for AIDS Research and Education (YRG Care), Chennai.
In a press release, general secretary, NNagaDAO, Ketho Angami stated that the movement was necessitated as a result of the issue about the “need to understand the roles and responsibilities of YRG care, Johns Hopkins University, and the NGOs, as claimed by YRG Care as their contracted partner(s).”
However, YRG Care has not provided any clarity on the subject matter despite repeated effort by the network to seek clarity from YRG Care through series of communication, stated the general secretary. It has, therefore, become apparent that YRG Care has no interest in addressing the concern of the network, and resolving the matter, stated Ketho.
Therefore, NNagaDAO in its latest executive board meeting has resolved to cease any co-operation with YRG Care in the state until the issues are settled amicably. Towards this line, NNagaDAO, has directed all its partner NGOs and CBOs to adhere to the non-cooperation stand of the network.
