NNC (FGN) Lotha Region clarifies on Leacy appointments

DIMAPUR: Naga National Council (FGN) Lotha Region has clarified that the news item on appointments of new Leacys by Midanpeyu Hathungo Kithan, published on June 17, was made on personal interest and not by the government.
In a rejoinder, Midanpeyu of NNC (FGN) Wokha Region, E. Thungbemo Ngullie, questioned the legitimacy of the appointments, asking whether the concerned person was elected or appointed, and under whose authority administrative powers were exercised without government knowledge.
Thungbemo stated that any such appointments must be furnished with detailed lists of incumbents and documentary evidence of appointment orders, endorsements of official papers, and delegated administrative and financial powers. He asserted that as the elected Midanpeyu under Wokha Region, his executive powers had been bypassed for selfish interests. He cautioned that failure to furnish the required documents to the government and to his office would render the activities and administrative functioning null and void.
