NNC/FGN Sumi region along with the “Naga army” under its region held a joint meeting with the central authorities of the NNC/FGN under FGN kedahge, “Brig. (Retd)” S. Singnya and NNC president, Senka Ao on April 14 at Dimapur, and discussed issues of “national importance faced by the region in particular and the Naga nation in general.”
In a press release, NNC/FGN Sumi region, regional president, Vikato Zhimo and Sumi region, midan peyu, Khutovi Awomi said after the fruitful and constructive deliberations, the joint meeting adopted two-point resolutions. The joint meeting unanimously reiterated continued unconditional support to the WC, NNPGs in the political dialogue with government of India. The meeting expressed concern that even after a lapse of more than three years of concluding the negotiations there was no formal accord/agreement. Therefore, the joint meeting has appealed to the negotiating parties to expedite an honourable and acceptable solution at the earliest. The joint meeting also appreciated the immense contributions and sacrifices of the Sumi community towards the Naga cause through its participation in the NNC/FGN, right from its inception till date. The meeting further appealed the Sumi community to continue its unflinching support to the NNC/FGN.
