DIMAPUR: NNC/GDRN (N A) has categorically rejected what it termed as a misleading and factually incorrect claim being circulated that 18 of its cadres had defected to “FGN (Sukhai Group).” In a press release, the group’s MIP clarified that Thongliba Sangtam and Eangba Konyak, both ‘Lt Colonels’, were “habitual defectors and liars” who had already been suspended from NNC/GDRN (N A) for anti social behaviour, recklessness and substance abuse.
It further stated that the remaining 15 names mentioned in the “home comers list” did not exist in any official records or enrolment of NNC/GDRN (N A), terming the list a “bogus entity” created to promote a shameless and sinister personal image. The release asserted that NNC/GDRN (N A) would not be swayed by such “cheap and false propaganda” and reaffirmed its commitment to the Naga national cause. It also maintained that all factions in Nagaland should condemn attempts by individuals or groups to malign and damage the credibility of any government through false and misleading claims.
