NNC (Parent Body) cautions

NNC (Parent Body) has issued a “last warning” to its former general secretary V Nagi and asked him to stop his “destructive political play” when all Nagas were striving for a peaceful resolution of the Indo-Naga political conflict.

In a statement, the organisation warned Nagi to stay away from its matters before any untoward punishment befell upon him, adding that his nosy involvement was not legitimate in any of its work. It also stressed that there was no meaning of paper war when the Nagas in general were fully aware of the ongoing peace process.

NNC (Parent Body) clarified that Nagi’s membership and his active involvement in the organisation and as co-convener of Working Committee (WC), Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs) was terminated on June 6 last year as per azha (law) by its president and central executive council members, which was endorsed by all regional authorities with a voice vote in the House due to his “unacceptable, immature and churlish behaviour” that Naga leaders could not tolerate and adjust him any longer.

However, it alleged that despite all these, Nagi continued to claim his leadership with a few handpicked members like Yillow Humtseo and Zhiongba Yimchunger, who were not capable or not qualified for the assigned posts as acting president and vice-president respectively.

Asserting that Nagi was a self-proclaimed leader and that he stayed isolated in a paddy field with his wife and family members, NNC (Parent Body) urged Naga brethrens not be misled by him as he was no more in active service of the organisation and also played no mediatory role between the Nagas and Government of India.
