NNC (PB) appeals to observe ‘Naga National Martyrs’ Day’

DIMAPUR, OCT 13 (NPN)

Naga National Council (Parent Body) has appealed to all Nagas to solemnly observe ‘Naga National Martyrs’ Day’ on October 18, 2025. NNC (PB) information & publicity wing said that “the day holds special significance for the Naga nation as it commemorates the countless patriots and comrades who fought and sacrificed their lives for the freedom and sovereignty of the Naga people.”
First observed on October 18, 1952, NNC (PB) said this year marks the 73rd observation of ‘Naga National Martyrs’ Day’, adding that it was a time to honour and remember all those who stood steadfast for the cause of Naga sovereignty.
NNC (PB) said that over the decades, numerous national workers and innocent civilians lost their lives at the hands of “aggressors and occupiers of the Naga homeland.”
It called upon all Nagas to remember their sacrifices and come together in prayer, seeking God’s grace to grant solace and eternal peace to the souls of the martyrs.
Further, NNC (PB) leadership has directed all regional councils and members across the homeland to observe the day with utmost respect, sincerity, and devotion, describing it as an obligation of the nation and its people.
