NNC (PB) condemns imposition of AFSPA in Nagaland

Condemning the imposition and extension of Disturbed Area Act/Armed Forces Special Power Act (DAA/AFSPA) in Nagaland yet again, the Naga National Council (Parent Body) said that “this aggression with brute force” was a complete violation of international human rights performed by the largest democracy India.

A press release by NNC (PB) information and publicity wing claimed that, “there was no conflict or violence occurring in Nagaland”, whereas these black laws are imposed over and over again “to suppress and oppress” the Naga people who are longing for peace in the land.

Pointing out that there was cease fire with different political groups by the government of India and talks (negotiations) were underway to settle the Naga political problem peacefully, the NNC (PB) appeals to the international bodies and institutions to support and speak for the political plight of the Naga people and its land.
