Naga National Council (Parent Body) held its general meeting on June 2 at Lotha Region and unanimously elected Yilow Humtsoe as president, Zhiongba Yimkhiung as vice president and V. Nagi as the general secretary for the next term of office for five years.
In a press release, NNC (Parent Body) Information & Publicity Wing informed that the T.A Rengma, Kiheto Zhimomi, Mhonyamo Kikon and Thranimba Yimkhiung were also unanimously elected to the post of joint secretary.
NNC (Parent Body) said the general meeting also thoroughly discussed the Naga National political issues and adopted three-point resolutions. The general meeting resolved to stand for Naga National unity as the urgent most work for the interest of the Naga people as one homeland and people. It also resolved to work and stand firm for the “Naga inalienable rights for freedom of sovereignty”. Further, the meeting also resolved to stand and work with all those like-minded groups and people who stand for the homeland as a whole and for “Naga sovereignty”.
