Reacting to the allegations against NNC (Parent Body) president Z Royim by UNPG/NNC (PB) following the signing of memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the NSCN (K) under the collective leadership of president ‘lt. gen.’ (Retd) Khango Konyak and general secretary Hokato Vusshe, NNC (PB) has put on record that the Government of India and the Nagas recognised Z Royim as its president.
In a press note issued by its general secretary, NNC (PB) alleged that Royim was taken at gunpoint on May 6, 2023 to Hozheto village under Niuland district by Khehoi campers and kept in captivity at Khehoi designated camp. NNC (PB) said that the “evil plot that transpired during the process was unacceptable and unjustifiable”, alleging that the president was coerced by extraneous force to acknowledge the induction of ousted Kiviho Zhimomi as president of UNPG/NNC (PB) on May 11, 2023 without the consent and the approval of the cabinet, which consequently undermined the status Royim to a mere acting president.
It said the then vice-president Kiviho Zhimomi and then general secretary Toshi Walling had been terminated on April 30, 2023 on ground of defying the sacred yehzabo of the NNC, including “mismanagement of finance, misuse of powers and functions, and working for self-aggrandisement”.
NNC (PB) alleged that the high table under the platform of Working Committee had been meddling with the internal issues of the affiliated political groups, which had resulted in deteriorating the mutual relationship.
Hence, advising the party in question to abstain from exerting such arbitrary decision, the group said that such actions would have negative impact on mutual relationship.
NNC (PB) also declared that it would not tolerate any baseless allegation or divisive policies to defame its president, who it claimed was the “historic figure” to the Nagas, by branding him as anti-national for changing his allegiance.
NNC (PB) reiterated its stand for an early solution to the Naga political issue and said it could decide on its own to corroborate with any political group that had a vision for the Nagas.
The group also declared that it was as a matured body and not a puppet that would dance to the tune of other political groups.
Further, NNC (Parent Body)warned of initiating stern action against any individual or group collecting any form of “tax” or “donation” under the banner of its president Z Royim.
