Nagaland National Pension System Government Service Employees Forum (NNPSGSEF) held its first executive meeting at CIMORB Hotel, Kohima, on April 26 attended by District Unit presidents to strategize pension reforms.
Chaired by general secretary Imnasenla Pongener, the meeting focused on the demand to “Scrap NPS. Restore OPS.” Forum president Moanungsang Jamir stressed the need for collective action, stating that district-level cooperation is crucial in shaping the movement’s future.
Spokesperson Avizo Nienu raised concerns over low accountability among NPS subscribers, urging active participation. The Forum demanded a pension equal to 50% of the last drawn salary and a full refund of NPS contributions.
Discussions led by vice president Jentinochet Amri resulted in a finalized Plan of Action, with finance secretary Adabe Namgi calling for unity in advancing pension restoration efforts. NNPSGSEF remains committed to securing equitable pension benefits through sustained advocacy.
