Nagaland NET(/PhD) Qualified Forum (NNQF) has urged the state government to review the eligibility criteria for assistant professor recruitment in the higher education department through the Common Educational Services Examination (CESE), Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC).
In a memorandum submitted to the commissioner secretary and the directorate of higher education, NNQF while highlighting certain limitations and inconsistencies with regard to the issue appealed to the higher education authorities to initiate a more egalitarian approach to the CES examination by including MPhil/PhD degree, academic publications in peer-reviewed journals and teaching experience as part of academic performance marking.
The forum also sought modification of rules pertaining to marks scored by candidates in the annual/semester system. Further, it asked the department to widen the scope of competition by including allied subjects as per the UGC Gazette to be made eligible with regard to the assistant professor eligibility criteria.
NNQF has requested that action be taken on the issues before the commencement of the next CES Examination. Meanwhile, the NNQF has welcomed all NET and PhD qualified candidates to join the forum and get in touch with NNQF at nnqf2018@gmail.com
