NOA organises Olympic Day Run in Kohima

The Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) celebrated Olympic Day on June 23, with the successful organization of the Olympic Day Run under the global theme, “Move, Learn, Discover – Together for a Better World,” at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima. The event aimed to promote fitness, friendship and the Olympic spirit among children.
The Olympic Day Run 2025 witnessed an enthusiastic turnout of 162 registered participants, children between the ages of 8 to 12 years—competing in a series of age-based races: 50 meters – 8–9 years, 80 meters – 9–10 years, 80 meters – 10–11 years, and 100 meters – 11–12 years.
The day began with bibs distribution at 8 AM, followed by the flagging off races at 9 AM, with senior vice president of the Nagaland Olympic Association, T. Meren Paul, serving as chairperson for the event.
Director of the Department of Youth Resources & Sports, Government of Nagaland, Kethosituo Sekhose, attended the event as special guest, delivering inspiring remarks to encourage the young athletes and all in attendance.
The prize distribution ceremony began at 12 PM, followed by words of encouragement from the special guest and a vote of thanks by joint secretary of Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA)Neivikuolie Nicholas Khatsu.
With a total prize pool of over Rs. 1 lakh, the Olympic Day Run 2025 was a vibrant celebration of sportsmanship and youth participation, reflecting NOA’s commitment to fostering a healthier and more active society.
The Nagaland Olympic Association extended appreciation to all 162 participants, parents, volunteers and well-wishers who made the event a grand success.
