NOHP Longleng observes ‘Children Dental Health Month’

National Oral Health Program (NOHP) Longleng observed Children Dental Health Month on May 27, at Government Primary School Yongnyah Sector-C. A press release by Chief Medical Office (CMO) Longleng media officer Angshom Chemdok informed that on the occasion district hospital Longleng dental surgeon Dr. Chumei Nyam, encouraged the children to brush their teeth twice a day and limit sugar intake.


Dr. Chumei also encouraged the children to eat more fruits and vegetables and to avoid tobacco products and also demonstrated the brushing techniques.


NOHP Longleng district nodal officer Dr. Nichukholie Vupru, spoke on the importance of oral health and encouraged the students and parents present to make a habit of visiting dentist regularly. Free toothbrush and toothpaste and IEC material on oral health were also distributed to the students.
