NOHP Mon observes ‘children dental health month’

National Oral Health Programme (NOHP) Mon district observed “Children Dental Health Month” with Sunday School children at Konyak Baptist Church, Mon Town, Sunday. A press release by NOHP Mon informed that during the programme, District Nodal Officer (DNO) NOHP Mon, Dr Esther Chophy Ngullie, spoke about the importance of oral health.


In order to maintain good oral hygiene, she encouraged the children to brush twice a day, limit sugar intake, to eat fruits and vegetables and to avoid tobacco products.
Brushing techniques were demonstrated by junior dental surgeon, District Hospital Mon, Dr Lihngam Konyak.


The children were also given free toothbrushes and toothpastes. Information Education Communication (IEC) materials on oral health were also distributed. The programme was attended by around 370 children along with the teachers.
