“Noisy Neighbours” from Dimapur bagged the ‘Fusion of the Bands’ Hindi beat contest tittle during the grand finale held at Bhagat Stadium, Rangapahar Military Station, Dimapur on Thursday. The event was organised by the Dorians Society and Spear Corps of the Indian Army under operation Sadbhavna.
The prestigious Hindi music “Talent Hunt” captivated the vibrant music scene providing a platform for artistes from 16 districts to showcase their exceptional talents and their rendered heart touching and soul stirring performances at an event graced by the Governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan as the chief guest.
The grand finale event witnessed six bands namely Sideline, Raag, Kunwang Wanghum, Tribals Indian, Lies & Lullabies and Noisy Neighbours battling for the coveted title with their captivating performances. The contest was judged by Sunep Lemtur, Akum Jamir and Obed Kath where Noisy Neighbours emerged as the winner and walked home with a cash prize of Rs. 3 lakhs, Kunwang Wanghum from Dimapur as 1st runners-up received Rs. 2 lakhs, Lies and Lullabies from Kohima as 2nd runners-up received Rs.1 lakh and Rs. 25000 to the other finalist including memento.
The talent hunt “Fusion of the Bands” brought together a diverse array of musical talents, showcasing the rich cultural tapestry of Nagaland. The journey to finale of the talent hunt comprised of a three-stage process which brought together musicians from all genres to compete in the universal language of music. The talent hunt kicked off with an exciting online audition phase, where 29 bands from the 16 districts of Nagaland showcased their musical prowess. After a rigorous selection process, 12 talented bands were shortlisted to compete in the semi-finals.
After a thorough evaluation of performances in the semi-finals held on March 26 at Manekshaw auditorium, Rangapahar military station, TCP gate – 1, Dimapur, six exceptional bands emerged as the finalists, earning the opportunity to showcase their musical prowess on a prestigious platform.
The journey to the final of “Fusion of the Bands” although rigorous, was a rewarding experience for the participants.
The presence of renowned guest artistes like Imna Yaden, Eva Rongmei, NK Naga, Akumsen Lemtur, Aloboli Kinimi, and the illustrious Prashant Tamang, winner of Indian Idol Season 3, ignited the energy of the crowds and provided a musical spectacle of unparalleled grandeur, all the guest artistes including the judges were also felicitated by Governor La Ganesan in the presence of GOC 3 Corps Lt. Gen. H S Sahi and other top ranking army officials. Operation Sadbhavna of Indian Army executes diverse initiatives on the basis of ‘Felt Need’ of the population.
The project was selected after taking local aspirations into consideration, in conjunction with civil administration to ensure that there was no duplicity in the projects being shortlisted. Projects like National Integration Tours (NIT), women empowerment, employment generation, education, opportunities to youth for showcasing talent and development activities towards nation building are planned and executed under Operation Sadbhavna.
Fusion of the Bands stood as a testament to the musical vibrancy and talent that thrives in Nagaland. With a stellar line-up of artistes, generous prize offerings, and a meticulous selection process, the talent hunt not only celebrated music but also nurtured and promoted the rich cultural heritage of the region.
