The Noklak District Junior Athletics Meet 2025 was conducted on August 26 at Public Ground Noklak. The meet was organised by the Noklak District Athletics Association (NDAA) under the aegis of the Nagaland Athletics Association.
A press release by NDAA president stated that the president of the District Athletics Association Er. Jonthong Meya, in his address, urged young athletes to approach athletics with dedication, not merely as a pastime.
He emphasized that sports must be a part of everyday life for athletes aspiring to compete at higher levels.
Highlighting the opportunities ahead, he informed that winners of the district meet will qualify for the All Nagaland Junior Athletics Meet 2025 in September. Outstanding performers at the state level will further represent Nagaland at the Northeast Championships.
Stressing on athletics as a career pathway, he noted that physical endurance remains vital for various recruitments. He also announced that the Association plans to launch coaching programmes to nurture young talents from the district, acknowledging the need for better technical guidance and training facilities.
Earlier the programme opened with a dedicatory prayer by Ms. Longkoi, youth pastor of the Baptist Church Thang.
