Noklak DPDB seeks chopper service & SDRF personnel

Noklak District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) has decided to approach the Nagaland State Transport (NST) to facilitate a chopper service twice a week to the district. The board also decided to ask competent authorities that State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) personnel be stationed at Noklak headquarters.


According to a DIPR report, the board members deliberated and agreed on the proposals during a meeting held on May 22 at the Conference Hall of the DC Noklak office under the chairmanship of MLA and chairman Noklak DPDB, P. Longon.


During the meeting, Longon proposed chopper service twice a week, and the members discussed and agreed to forward the matter to the general manager, NST, for necessary action.


He also urged the members to regularly attend the meetings and bring their departmental agenda for discussion and implementation. Tanghiu from DDMA proposed the State Disaster Response Forc personnel be stationed at Noklak headquarters and explained the need for SDRG during emergencies, which the house approved to be forwarded to the concerned authority for further action.

Students of Noklak raised various agendas, including prohibition of the sale of tobacco products, alcohol and other intoxicants near educational institutions, sufficient supply of drinking water at educational institutions and maintenance of roads in schools.


The district administration and concerned departments were entrusted to immediate actions.
The house also discussed LADP schemes for both 56th A/C Noklak and 57th A/C Thonoknyu, which were approved and to be forwarded to the concerned authorities for necessary action.

The members also discussed the upgrade of a school, a proposal to construct a cultural hall and registration of society, which were approved and forwarded to the concerned authority for consideration and further action.
