Norman Putsure College conducts career counselling

The Department of English, Norman Putsure College organized a ‘One-Day Career Counseling Session’ titled ‘From Page to Profession: A One-Day Career Conclave’ for the students of the department.
The session was conducted in a blended mode, both online and offline, and was specially designed to help students explore the wide range of career opportunities available after completing a Bachelor of Arts degree in English (Literature).
The program commenced with a welcome address delivered by Dr. Kevibeinuo Nguzhülie, Head of the Department, Department of English. The Department of English hosted a group of speakers, including Aaron Teron, Rongsennungla Pongen, Dr. Noyingbeni T. Erui, Linoka Achumi, Jyoti Shah, Rüübino Peseyie, Imtikokba Jamir, and Tokhuo Humtsoe.
The guest speakers came from diverse professional backgrounds such as entrepreneurship, the corporate sector, teaching, academia, hospitality, civil service, pageantry, and other fields, offering students valuable insights into a wide range of career possibilities. The session highlighted the various career paths that a literature graduate can pursue across different fields, as the speakers shared insights drawn from their own personal and professional experiences.
The program concluded with panel discussion led by the faculty of the Department, followed by a vote of thanks delivered by Asino Beio, a faculty member of the Department.
The session proved to be highly insightful and fruitful, offering students valuable knowledge and guidance from mentors and experts representing diverse professions. It concluded on a positive note, with students leaving the session better informed and more confident about the career choices they may pursue in the future.
