Norman Putsure College organized its much-anticipated Sports Meet 2026, a four-day celebration of sportsmanship, teamwork and athletic excellence at the College Campus and Chumoukedima local ground, witnessing enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members.
Over the four days, students competed in a wide range of indoor and outdoor events including Volleyball, Basketball, Table Tennis, Arm Wrestling, Chess, Football, Penalty Shootout, High Jump, Long Jump, 100m and 200m Races, Shot Put, Badminton, Javelin Throw, Relay Race, Obstacle Race, Kho-Kho, Tug of War and Catapult Shooting.
The Football, Volleyball and Basketball Finals were among the highlights of the meet, drawing enthusiastic support from spectators. Participants demonstrated remarkable skill, determination and true sportsmanship throughout the competitions.
The Sports Meet concluded with a Prize Distribution Programme where winners and outstanding performers were honoured with awards and certificates.
Earlier, the Sports Meet commenced with a grand inaugural programme graced by the chief guest, proprietor of The Combat Academy, Khriemelie Mehta. In his address, he encouraged students to uphold discipline, teamwork and perseverance both on and off the field. The programme featured an invocation, welcome address, special presentations, oath-taking ceremony and the ceremonial lighting of the torch.
The ceremony included the lowering of the College Flag, vote of thanks and benediction, formally marking the successful conclusion of the event.
