‘Shocked, saddened’: Meghalaya CM
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma expressed shock over the crash of an Air India plane in Ahmedabad on Thursday.
The London-bound flight, with 242 passengers and cabin crew on board, crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad airport in the afternoon.
Taking to X, Sangma posted, “Shocked and saddened by the tragic accident of the Air India flight going from Ahmedabad to London.” “Our prayers are with all the family members of passengers who were on board the aircraft,” he added.

Concerned over plane crash in Ahmedabad: Himanta
Guwahati, Jun 12 (PTI): Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday said he was concerned by a plane crash near Ahmedabad and prayed for the safety of all passengers and crew.
The London-bound Air India plane carrying 242 passengers and crew crashed moments after taking off from the Ahmedabad airport on Thursday afternoon. Several casualties are feared.
“Deeply concerned by reports of an Air India flight crash in Ahmedabad. Praying for the safety and well-being of all passengers and crew members,” Sarma said in a post on X.

Mizoram CM expresses grief
Aizawl, Jun 12 (PTI): Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma on Thursday expressed sorrow over the Ahmedabad plane crash.
He said that Mizoram stands in solidarity with all affected people.
“Deeply saddened by the tragic Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad today. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of those who lost their lives. We stand in solidarity with all affected during this heartbreaking time, “ Lalduhoma said in a post on X.

Khandu, Mein express grief
Itanagar, Jun 12 (PTI): Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Thursday expressed grief over the tragic crash of an Air India aircraft near Ahmedabad airport, terming it a devastating incident.
The London-bound flight, carrying 242 passengers and crew members, crashed moments after taking off from the Ahmedabad International Airport five minutes after taking off at 1.38 pm local time.
While the exact number of casualties is yet to be officially announced, several fatalities are feared. “Deeply shocked by the tragic Air India flight crash in Ahmedabad. My heartfelt prayers are with the passengers, crew members, their families, and all those affected by this devastating incident,” Khandu posted on X.

Sikkim Guv, CM express sorrow
Gangtok, Jun 12 (PTI): Sikkim Governor Om Prakash Mathur and Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang on Thursday expressed deep sorrow over the Ahmedabad plane crash.
A Raj Bhavan statement said that the governor was shocked and devastated upon learning about the tragedy.
“I am deeply saddened by this catastrophic accident. On behalf of the people of Sikkim, I extend my deepest condolences to the friends and family of those who died in this accident,” he said.
“My thoughts and prayers are with all those on board and their families. We stand in solidarity with the nation and prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured,” he added.
Chief Minister Tamang took to Facebook to offer his condolences and stated that he was deeply saddened by the tragic crash.
“My heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of all those affected,” he said.

Biren Singh express grief
Imphal, Jun 12 (PTI): Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla on Thursday expressed deep sorrow over the aircraft crash in Ahmedabad.
A 20-year-old Manipuri woman from Thoubal district, identified as Kongbrailatpam Nganthoi Sharma, was a member of the cabin crew of the aircraft.
In a post on X, Raj Bhavan Imphal said, “The Hon’ble Governor of Manipur has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic and shocking incident of an aircraft crash that occurred during a flight from Ahmedabad to London. He has prayed to the Almighty for the speedy recovery of all those injured in this unfortunate mishap.”
Former chief minister N Biren Singh also expressed shock and grief over the incident.
Singh, in a post on X, said, “I am deeply shocked and grieved by the tragic Air India flight crash near Meghaninagar, Ahmedabad, this afternoon. The aircraft, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner bound for London, carried 242 people on board, including Ex-Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Vijay Rupani and our own daughter of Manipur, Ms Nganthoi Sharma Kongbrailatpam, who was serving as part of the cabin crew.”
“This heartbreaking incident has shaken the entire nation. My thoughts and prayers are with all those on board and their families during this unimaginably difficult time,” Singh added.
