India Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rainfall and isolated heavy rain across over North East region during the week.
IMD said that light/moderate rainfall, accompanied with thunderstorm, lightning and isolated heavy rainfall is likely to continue over the region.
It further said that very heavy rainfall is expected across Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura from July 7-12 and Assam and Meghalaya on July 12.
Residents have been advised to take necessary precautions and remain alert, particularly in vulnerable areas prone to flooding or landslides.
