Northern Angami GBs Union conference held at Nerhema village

The 5th general conference of Northern Angami GBs Union (NAGBU) was held at Nerhema village with advisor of Prisons, Printing & Stationary, H. Haiying as the special guest on February 28.

A press release from NAGBU stated that, Haiying speaking on the occasion said Naga society was a dignified society because of customary law and unique tradition and culture.

While stating that this should not be allowed to be polluted by any outside elements, he also said that GBs were the pillar of the government, whereby objective of the present government was to decentralize the power and evolve it to the grass root level.

He felt that the function of the village administration should be of a democratic character and there should not be any “ism” in the village or tribe because it spoils unity and harmony.

Vineipra Pienyii, president Kohima District GBs Union also exhorted the gathering.

Dizolie Virie, chairman Nerhema Village Council and Kedilezo Keditsu, advisor NAGBU also spoke on the occasion.

Earlier, programme was chaired by NAGBU president Khozolie Kiewhuo, welcome address by Rüünyü Kengurüse, head GB Nerhema village and vote of thanks was proposed by NAGBU joint secretary Thekruneiu. Conference was hosted by Nerhema Village Council.
