Nothing wrong for Nagas to live together: Shurhozelie

NPF president, Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu said “Nagas belongs to the same family, by blood and not by choice and it is our birth right and fundamental right to live together under same administrative units”. He said this while addressing the one day political conference cum interface of the NPF Manipur state unit (MSU) at indoor stadium Senapati, Manipur on Tuesday.
Addressing a mammoth gathering of NPF party workers, Dr. Shurhozelie stated that there was nothing wrong against anyone, if members of the same family express their desire to live together. 
He recalled that for the Naga integration, the Nagaland legislative Assembly had passed resolution on four occasions on December 12 1964, August 28 1970, September 16 1994 and December 18 2003. He said that the recognition given by the ECI after NPF bagged four seats in Manipur was a big boost for the party to set its foothold and reach out to the people for a change. 
He said that the resignation of the four MLAs against the three bills, passed by the Manipur Assembly, was the highest sacrifice. This clearly demonstrated the party’s policy for Naga and the hill people, he added.
On the forthcoming election in Manipur due to be held in 2017, Shurhozelie urged the party men to reach out to the people and set its priorities without further delay.
He further slammed the Ibobi led government for playing divisive politics that resulted in creating an atmosphere of hatred between different sections of the people.
Nagaland Minister of School Education and SCERT, and also in-charge of Manipur state, Yitachu said that there was nothing wrong launching NPF party in Manipur. 
He said the party was not to create enmity rather create an opportunity and to see that justice prevail.
NPF Manipur unit president N. Awangbow Newmai in his key note address said the party’s commitment to stand for the right of the Naga people and tribal would never be compromised. 
The party would continue to stand for political, economic and social justice in our society, he added.
United Naga Council president Gaidon Kamei in speech said that though UNC was an NGO, it supported the NPF, saying both have a common desire and objective. He appealed to MLAs and worker party to stand firm on their objective of resolving the protracted Naga political issue for the interest of whole Naga people.
The programme was chaired by NPF working president Solomon Veino, invocation prayer by Ng. David Sha pastor PBCS, introduction and presentation led by NPF unit president women wing K. Henya Lirina, welcome address by Robert T. Maram GS NPF unit. The programme was also enthralled by special songs. In the second session interface, there was deliberation on the party functionaries and principles with central office delegates along with ADCs members from 4 districts, party workers and others.
