NP-NCD Phek conducts training on NCD screening portal

The National Programme for Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases (NP-NCD) Phek conducted a training session on Population-Based NCD Screening (Portal) on June 3 and 4, 2025. The training was held in two batches at CMO Conference Hall, Phek, and CHC Pfutsero, Conference Hall.
A press release from District Media Coordinator, NHM Phek, informed that the resource persons for the training were Dr. Alemwabang Aier (SPO, NP-NCD) and Thejakhrietuo Suokhrie (DEO, NP-NCD) from DHFW Kohima.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Aier emphasized the objectives of NPCDCS/NP-NCD, which aim to improve health status through behavior change. He stressed the importance of raising awareness among communities, civil societies, and faith-based organizations.
Under NP-NCD, key activities include Population-Based Screening, Opportunistic Screening, Management of Common Needs, Elderly Care Counseling, Physiotherapy, and Health Promotion through IEC for behavioral change communication.
The training was attended by Medical Officers (MOs), General Nursing and Midwifery (GNMs), Community Health Officers (CHOs), Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs), NCD Counselors, and DPMU/BPMU staff from all blocks. An intensive training on the NCD Portal was also conducted to streamline digital reporting and enhance data quality.
