NPA charts roadmap for 2026-27

DIMAPUR, AUG 19 (NPN): The Nagaland Pickleball Association (NPA) has outlined an ambitious development roadmap for the sport following its General Annual Meeting held on August 16. The meeting reviewed achievements from the past year, including tournaments and participation levels, while setting priorities for the upcoming season.
In a press release, the association announced plans to host two official state events in Kohima and Dimapur, tentatively scheduled for late September and October. State team selections will also be conducted in October, with selected players to represent Nagaland at the IPA Nationals.
A key highlight was the introduction of a formal state-level ranking and digital tournament system, with FLEG designated as the official digital partner for registration, scoring and event management. This move aims to ensure transparency and structured competition across the state.
The association also emphasized strengthening infrastructure by standardizing courts, certifying referees and engaging court owners through consultations. Grassroots development was identified as a major priority, with plans to collaborate with schools and educational institutions to promote youth participation and talent identification.
Further initiatives include coaching certification programmes and women’s coaching clinics, to be held alongside the proposed PWR tournament later this year. To maintain accountability, the NPA resolved to conduct monthly review meetings, either online or in person, to track progress.
Concluding the meeting, the association reaffirmed its commitment to building a more structured, competitive, inclusive, and sustainable pickleball ecosystem in Nagaland.
