Nagaland Pollution Control Board (NPCB) Monday informed that the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) has notified the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management & Transboundary Movement) Amendment Rules, 2022 for the effective management of waste tyres through the EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) regime.
In a notice, NPCB member secretary K. Hukato Chishi informed that in compliance of the rule, an online Waste Tyre Portal has been developed by Central Pollution Control Board and was available at https:/www.eprtyrescpcb.in
NPBC stated that producers and recyclers of waste tyre were required to register on the portal. Further, NPCB informed that tyres and tubes vulcanization/hot retreading tyres and tube retreading (without boilers) are to apply for consent to establish/operate under Air/Water Acts from the Nagaland Pollution Control Board.
