Supporting the Assam Congress’ election manifesto, NPCC said it has been brought out with a feeling for the downtrodden and the poor.
NPCC president K. Therie in a press note said while the nation has been split wide between the haves and the have-nots, the Assam Congress was committed to care for the weak and the poor.
Under Congress stalwarts, Assam has grown, he said, adding Tarun Gogoi has steered Assam through the midst of the storm and has changed the face of Assam beyond comparison with her sister states. He said democracy, secularism, freedom of social practices and minorities has been under attack and pointed out that Assam Election was important for the people of NE.
“We are a mini-India and a mini-World. We need to exist together with ideologies of Unity in diversity of colours and cultures,” he added.
NPCC further said that as neighbouring states, all are interdependent politically and economically and want to establish a cordial and healthy relation.
NPCC wished that the people of Assam to decide this critical election in the wisdom of God for the unity and integrity of the nation.
