NPCC condemns violence at Cong candidate’s residence

Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has expressed shock and pain at the poll-related violence at the residence of Congress candidate from Alongmen Ward Bendangchuba allegedly perpetrated by supporters of his opposing candidate from the NDPP, Imlikumzuk, on the day of polling to urban local bodies (ULB).

Strongly condemning the vandalism and physical assault on the candidate’s supporters and family members, the NPCC in a statement urged the law enforcement agencies and State Election Commission to take strictest action against the hooligans responsible for this dastardly act.

NPCC said it was a collective shame and tragedy that such an act of utter barbarism was allowed to play out publicly in wanton disregard to all laid down electoral, penal and moral codes of conduct, adding that it was a stark reminder about the depths to which the party and government of the day could stoop down to for power.
