Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC)’s extended executive committee meeting, which was held at Congress Bhavan Kohima on Friday, has decided to prepare the party for the upcoming 2023 general elections.
NPCC through its communications department meeting expressed happiness over the All India Congress Committee (AICC)’s assurance of its support in this regard.
Further, the meeting discussed about a preliminary draft of the Party’s Manifesto.
The meeting also decided for the party to be open towards a secular front in the interest of the people.
Speaking at the meeting, NPCC president K. Therie stated that defeat and humiliation in a fair election was more bearable than MLAs defecting after being elected on the party ticket.
He said selection of candidates would be decentralized to the ACCCs and the party rank and file should go to the grassroots with the issues confronting Naga society and the proposed solutions the Congress has to offer.
The meeting was attended representatives from DCCs, frontals and party leaders including former chief minister KL Chishi, former minister Zachilhu Vadeo and rank and file of NPCC.
