Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee, Public Grievances Cell (PGC) has demanded immediate release of stipends for students of industrial training institute (ITI) under eight districts.
In a press release, PGC said that stipend allocated for each trainee was Rs.500 per month, which amounted to Rs. 6000 annually. However, PGC claimed that the stipend has not been released for three years (2020 -23 for ITIs in Kohima, Dimapur, Wokha, Mokokchung, Tuensang, Mon, Phek, and Kiphire.
PGC has asked the responsible authority to clarify as to why stipend was not released to those students who have even completed their courses including the students undergoing training. In the light of the above, PGC has demanded immediate release of stipend to those who have completed their course during the mentioned period and to those pursuing their course at present without any further delay.
Failure to release the stipend, the PGC cautioned that it would adopt other democratic means to let justice prevail.
