Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has initiated a new working system to reach out to people and address their grievances and address them through launching of its state-wide tour.
This was announced by NPCC president S Supongmeren Jamir, during NPCC district tour programme organized by Dimapur District Congress Committee at Congress Bhavan, here on Friday.
NPCC chief attributed the party’s failure to win in assembly election to lack of proper coordination among the party workers.
To avoid such situation, Jamir said Congress has initiated new working system, whereby a secretary will be appointed in every constituency with PCC member, NPCC secretary and ACC president working collaboratively to examine the constituency level and execute the plan accordingly.
An NPCC general secretary or vice president will take in charge of every district to administer them the constituencies while a block level agent would be deployed for every constituency in order to avoid delaying problems and manipulation during elections.
He maintained that such strategy was the only way to reach out to grassroots level and cautioned that if the designated members failed to meet such task, the party would face another defeat.
While expressing appreciation of Congress leaders and workers for their sacrifice towards the cause of the party and for the people, Jamir said since 2003 the party has been in opposition but today, it has grown strong and will fight for the cause of the people of the state.
However, he said sacrifices would be futile if party workers failed to identify a potential candidate from their constituency. He therefore, appealed to all the party workers to team up and contribute.
Also, speaking at the programme, one of the senior NPCC leaders maintained that speculations that the Narendra Modi government was consolidating the power for the ensuing 2024 Lok Sabha elections were propaganda. He claimed that the I.N.D.I.A bloc comprising of top national and regional party would topple the BJP in the 2024 election.
According to the leader, many youngsters, who have never been in any political party, were enrolling with Congress party indicating that they will be able to differentiate between the political ideology of Congress and BJP.
He also welcomed all who were willing to join the Congress. He also encouraged all the leaders, who have weathered the storm throughout the last 21 years in Nagaland, not to be disappointed, but look forward towards a better tomorrow.
