NPCC launches ‘crusade against unfaithful government’

Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) launched its ‘Crusade Against Unfaithful Government’ hosted by District Congress Committee (DCC) Dimapur at Congress Bhavan Dimapur on Friday.

Speaking at the launching programme, NPCC president K Therie said that the “Crusade” was necessitated as the people cannot expect anything from the present government.

He maintained that society today was under threat of demographic changes, dilution of religious beliefs and erosion of customary and traditional practices. He alleged that BJP/RSS agenda of Hindutva and division on communal lines has reached the population.

State Congress chief claimed that Nagas were staring at loss of identity, culture and traditions with the “47 MLAs in fear of the 12 BJP MLAs who are executing the diktats of the BJP/RSS.”

Therie also lamented that although the Assembly had voluntarily committed to pave the way for solution, they refused to honour the commitment despite the announcement of conclusion of talks.  He said the people on the other hand continued to suffer under extortion, corruption, lack of development, unemployment and backdoor appointments.

NPCC president said that the Congress, given the opportunity, would ensure continuous fund flow for industrial development and deliver on women representation, health insurance and all-round development across the state.

Other speakers included NPCC vice president V Lasuh; NPMCC vice president Neojila; NPCC minority dept chairman Rajesh Kumar Sethi; 5th ACCC Ghaspani-II president Lashito Shohe; and DYC president R Mukhe Yimkhiung. 4th ACCC Ghaspani-I president Kuhoto I. Awomi and NSUI State unit president X. Chophika Sumi offered invocation and benediction respectively.
