The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC), with Dimapur District Congress Committee (DDCC) members, selected new office bearers for Niuland Unit under 4 Ghaspani 1 A/C in a meeting held under the leadership of Nitovi Awomi, president, Niuland Unit on February 22.
Akavi N Zhimomi, secretary (Organization) NPCC, addressing the party workers said that there were many dedicated and veteran workers in the Congress Party who deserved the members’ respect. Claiming that the BJP had been fooling the people, he said the people were dissatisfied with the BJP government. He added that party members should not wait for declaration of candidature but work to strengthen and uplift the party. Akavi also explained the structure of the Congress party and also the Jan Sampark Abhiyan for the members.
X Chophika Sumi, co-cordinator, Social Media, NPCC, took a dig at the BJP’s promise of ‘Acche Din’ and NDPP’s ‘Change Is Coming’ slogans and urged party workers to work hard because good days were coming for them. He said the Congress party in Nagaland had been the Opposition for more than 15 years but he gave the example of various states where the party had been in like situations but was in power today.
Kuhoto Awomi, secretary, DCC, said that there would be obstacles in a quest to do the right thing, but the primary focus should be on how to bring change to society. He further said that politics was about working for the upliftment of society.
