NPCC reacts to Khulu

Reiterating its earlier stand that the DAN government had failed to control the law and order problem in the State, the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) took a dig at Home Commissioner HK Khulu for stating that the state’s law and order was “completely under control.”
NPCC vice president (Admn) Zachilhu Vadeo in a press release said that though sectoral killings, extortions, intimidations, kidnappings and abductions had become the order of the day, Khulu failed to realize that all such lawlessness were State’s subject.
“The general Naga public is the best judge. It is surprising to note that he (Mr. Khulu) justified the killing of only one or two civilians. As a matter of fact, to save even a single life, people spend lakhs of rupees and that life is so dear and costly for a Naga family traditionally,” NPCC said.
On the commissioner’s claim that the state’s law and order was far better comparing to the other states like Jammu and Kashmir and even neighboring states, NPCC said the situation in Nagaland cannot be compared to any other states where there was no ceasefire.
“As we all know that there is Cease-fire between Government of India and various underground factions that the political and law & order situation in Nagaland ought to be far better than any other States, had the DAN Government given efforts to control the situation,” NPCC added.
NPCC further said it was surprised that Khulu was questioning the “intellectual capability of our GBs and DBs, who are respected by Naga people.”
