Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has sought the All India Congress Committee’s intervention in changing the date for counting of votes for the by-poll to 43 Tapi A/C. The Election Commission of India (ECI) had recently declared December 3, 2023 (Sunday) as the date for counting of votes.
In a letter to AICC president, NPCC president S Supongmeren Jamir pointed out that Nagaland being a Christian-dominated state. Sunday was solemn day of worship for the entire Christians. Hence, he requested AICC president to intervene and apprise ECI for the change in date of counting.
