Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has urged the Department of Telecommunication (DoT) to identify poor mobile network services in the State in both rural and urban places and improve them in the interest of consumers.

Zunheboto 233NPCC vice-president & public grievances cell chairman S Supongmeren Jamir and secretary & public grievances cell co-chairman Kedou Wetsah in a release also asked DDG (A), DoT, North East LSA Shillong to start spot testing of network services where base transceiver stations (BTS) were already constructed in the State. They said, as per an RTI reply received from chief public information officer of DDG (Nagaland), there were 4,942 BTS in the State as on August 31, 2021. (See table)
Of these, 2,102 BTS belonged to Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd, 1,840 belonged to Bharti Airtel, 688 to Vodafone Idea Ltd and 312 to BSNL.
