NPCC president K. Therie on Saturday alleged that Naga People’s Front (NPF) destroyed the state of Nagaland during its 13 year rule.
Addressing the public at Kiphire town as part of NPCC mass contact tour programme, Therie said the regional party has been given three chances but has failed to take the state forward on all fronts.
According to media cell NPCC, Therie recalled his contribution to the NPF and said he had come back to the people to change again as there was no longer any hope and future with the NPF party.
NPCC president said he had come to the people with a dream to bring about much needed change in society, adding that “we all have a crisis on our hands but we need to work together for the change.”
Therie said that although the Centre greatly honoured the chief minister of Nagaland, sadly Nagaland was treated worse than a Union Territory. Therie called for mutual respect of each other’s customs, culture, social practices and to appreciate each other. He also appealed to the government employees to attend their duties rather than draw their salaries at Kohima and Dimapur.
NPCC president further called upon them to share their wisdom with the masses and to educate the people on the various welfare schemes and facilities available for the public in order to take the society forward.
Assuring economic improvement of each household if given opportunity, Therie urged the gathering to join the political system and the like-minded people to join hands with the Congress Party to be a catalyst in bringing about the change.
While interacting with Yimchunger leaders at Shamator, Therie said “we are economically, socially and politically interdependent and that we are also unavoidable neighbours.” Asserting that peace cannot be gifted but has to be grown from the hearts of the people, he appealed to them to grow peace in their hearts to resolve the problems.
