NPF divisions hold constituencies tours across Nagaland

As part of the ongoing constituencies tour of the Naga People’s Front (NPF), the Zunheboto, Mon and Mokokching divisions conducted their respective tours from March 23 to 27.
Zunheboto: The central team-led Zunheboto division constituencies tour program, which commenced on 23rd March 2026, culminated on March 28 at 35 A/C Zunheboto. The concluding consultative meeting was held at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Zunheboto, in the presence of party leaders, divisional officials, and party workers.
A press release by NPF Zunheboto division press secretary Holoka T Sumi, stated that during the program, the central team held a series of consultative meetings across various constituencies under Zunheboto Division, engaging with party functionaries and grassroots workers to assess organizational strength, discuss key issues, and strategize for future political activities.
Khehoshe H. Yepthomi, President of NPF Zunheboto Division, in his address, lauded the party officials of 35 A/C for their steadfast support to their representative, KT Sukhalu, and for electing him consecutively for a second term.
He called upon the party functionaries to work in close coordination with the chairmen and secretaries of the 17 villages and 13 sectors under Zunheboto constituency, and to extend full support to KT Sukhalu for a third term. He stated that the MLA has been performing commendably for the welfare and development of Zunheboto.
He further added that during the recent budget session, KT Sukhalu raised several pressing issues concerning Zunheboto and is actively working towards addressing them.
Kuhoi Zhimomi, general secretary, COB NPF, while addressing the gathering, emphasized the importance of party discipline among all enrolled members.
Quoting that “election is a festival of democracy,” he lamented that it has instead turned into a “festival of alcohol and vote-selling.” He remarked that election expenditure in Nagaland constituencies often exceeds 5 crores. Citing Mizoram as an example, he noted that election expenses there range between 15–25 lakhs, with a significant portion spent on airfare for voters residing outside the state due to the lack of railway connectivity.
He further stated that if NPF representatives are elected in all six constituencies, elections in Zunheboto would transform into a “festival of development” and “festival of youth empowerment.” He also highlighted that inter-constituency visits promote cultural exchange and enable leaders to learn from one another’s progress.
Kakheho Yepthomi, Secretary, COB NPF, stated that as Zunheboto is the district headquarters, party officials must actively monitor developmental works, including roads and infrastructure in and around the town. He lauded KT Sukhalu for his keen interest and dedicated efforts toward the development of the district headquarters.
Vikaho Zhimomi, vice president of NPF Zunheboto Division, urged party members to refrain from backbiting and instead remain sincere and diligent, allowing their work and actions to reflect their commitment. He emphasized that party members have a crucial role in the upcoming elections and must ensure the re-election of KT Sukhalu to bring further development.
He also reminded party members that Zunheboto represents the face of the Sumi community and called upon them to remain loyal and steadfast. He cautioned them against succumbing to monetary temptations from opponents, stating that a clear and principled stand will enable their representative to continue developing the constituency.
Other highlights of the tour programme included speeches from various wings expressing their grievances, along with presentations by the general secretaries of all the constituencies, who shared developmental reports on their respective elected representatives. The meeting witnessed active participation and valuable inputs from party members, reflecting strong grassroots support and commitment. The Central Team expressed satisfaction over the successful conduct of the tour and appreciated the efforts of the Zunheboto Division for their warm hospitality and active cooperation throughout the program.
