NPF focuses on strengthening party at grassroots

Naga People’s Front (NPF) carried out a series of consultative and constituency tour programmes across Wokha, Kohima, and Zunheboto divisions on March 24, focusing on strengthening the party at the grassroots and fostering unity among members.
At Wokha, the Division held its Assembly Constituency tour at VDB Hall. NPF Wokha Division president, Meribemo Kinghen, described 38 AC as the backbone of the district, stressing that it must remain strong and active. He expressed confidence that the party would continue to perform well in the coming elections and urged workers to remain committed. Vice president of the Central Women Wing, Grace Murry, emphasized working for the welfare of the people rather than personal gain. Janbemo Humtsoe of the Social Media Cell (COB) called for unity and honesty, while Zuthungbeni Humtsoe highlighted the role of youth in using digital platforms for growth.

Farmers’ Wing (Central) GS, Elansao Kikon, spoke on building better relationships between farmers and the party. The programme was chaired by GS of 38 AC, Thungchibemo Humtsoe, with welcome address by Yanphamo Tungoe, president of 38 AC.
In Kohima, NPF 9th Kohima Town AC held its consultative meeting at the Division Office. Former MLA Dr. Nicky Kire said the meeting was convened to foster unity and oneness among members. Vice president COB Kohima Division, Menuovilie Kesiezie, recalled the party’s formation in 1963 under the Cock symbol and encouraged members to work hard and identify the best candidate for the upcoming election.

AC president Metekhrielie Mejura, in his presidential address, called on members to treat politics as an important institution and to act as role models in society. Vice presidents COB, Guonice Sirie and Theyiekelie Tachü, spoke on good governance and discipline, stressing the importance of Kohima Town AC as the capital constituency. The programme was chaired by Neiba Bio, working president of Kohima Town AC, with invocation by Acü Dzüvichü, Women President, and vote of thanks by Neibau Kire, president of the Farmers’ Wing.
Meanwhile, in Zunheboto, the second day of the Division Constituencies Tour Programme was held at Gen. K. Zuheto Swu Memorial Hall, Satakha. Addressing the gathering, Khehoshe Yepthomi called upon Satakha Town Council to collaborate with NPF officials for the welfare and development of the town.

Farmers’ Wing president, Kiheto Phuleshe, lauded the leadership of minister for PWD (R&B), G. Kaito Aye, describing him as the senior-most legislator among the 60 elected members. He urged people to refrain from unnecessary election contests and to appreciate their leader’s contributions. NPF COB secretary, Hutovi Awomi, stressed the need for proper party structures, while general secretary Kakishe Muru encouraged diligence and sincerity. Kuhoi Zhimomi urged respect among party officials regardless of positions. The programme was chaired by the president of 36 A/C, with invocation by the Women’s Wing president, followed by short speeches, discussion, and vote of thanks by the vice president of NPF 36 A/C.
