DIMAPUR: Leaders of the Naga People’s Front (NPF) 5 Ghaspani-II Assembly Constituency, led by its president Thepfüselie Makritsu, have expressed appreciation to the party leadership for amicably resolving differences within the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC).
In a statement, the constituency leaders particularly acknowledged the guidance of NPF president and Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio and advisor for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs Zhaleo Rio for ushering in peace and facilitating reconciliation within the civic body.
The leaders lauded the timely intervention and mature leadership displayed in resolving the misunderstanding between DMC chairperson Hukheto Yepthomi and deputy chairperson Imlinaro S Ezung, along with councillors involved in the recent internal crisis.
According to the statement, the reconciliation reflected the strength, unity and democratic spirit of the NPF family. The leaders also appreciated the willingness shown by all elected councillors to set aside their differences in the interest of party unity, good governance and public welfare.
They further acknowledged the role played by Zhaleo Rio in facilitating dialogue, understanding and reconciliation among the members, which ultimately led to the peaceful settlement of the matter without further confrontation.
Expressing confidence in the renewed unity among the councillors, the constituency leaders stated that it would strengthen the functioning of the DMC and enable the civic body to work effectively for the development and welfare of Dimapur city and its residents.
The NPF 5 Ghaspani-II Assembly Constituency leaders also appealed to party workers and supporters to continue upholding the values of unity, cooperation and collective responsibility for the progress of the party and the people.
