NPF party tickets to 47 intending candidates of NPF Mon division were distributed in the presence of minister of RD & REPA, C. L. John and parliamentary secretary CAWD, Y. M. Yollow. Tickets were distributed to intending candidates from five town councils within Mon district, namely Tobu Town Council, Aboi Town Council, Mon Town Council, Tizit Town Council and Naginimora Town Council going for election on February 1.
A press note from NPF Mon division secretary, Hongnaw H. A. Konyak stated that there were16 women in the fray, of which one from Tizit Town Council would be contesting in general seat and the rest from reserved seats provided under 33% per cent reservation for women.
C. L. John, Yollow and secretary (Central) Akang also exhorted the intending candidates and party leaders.
Earlier, president women wing Menching Konyak gave the invocation prayer in the programme chaired by secretary (division) Hongnaw H. A. Konyak. President Mon division, Yanlong Konyak handed over the tickets to intending candidates and conducted a pledge for candidates.
NPF Mon division further expressed gratitude to all concerned for supporting the party in organizing the ceremony successfully, particularly the elected members from Mon, SP and OC of Mon PS for adequate security coverage.
