Dr. Shürhozelie said he had gone by the party constitution to keep it on the safe side and that he honestly did nothing wrong against anybody.
Further, he advised his “good friends not to use 13 or 14 year-olds to man their publicity cell but at least keep some matured gentlemen to do the job. He said what was written today would go down in history for the people and therefore, urged the rival to be more reasonable and broadminded.
NPF women wing appeals rebels to return to fold
Naga People’s Front (NPF) women wing central office Friday appealed to all party workers and legislators, who have parted ways with ECI-recognised NPF, to return to the fold without any further delay.
In a press release, NPF central women wing president Tonlih Wangsa and working president Khriezobeinuo Sanchu said as the NPF party had promised to provide a stable government to the people in party election manifesto they must keep their promise as “true Christians.”
Urging the party rank and file and the legislators to seriously ponder on one’s own political principles and morality, women wing said as political functionaries they all have to abide by the party principles and constitution. As such, the women wing affirmed they steadfastly rally behind the leadership of party president Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu and chief minister T.R .Zeliang.
With each passing day, the signatories maintained that people were realising that those in the rebel camp at Sovima were “misleading themselves” and the people of Nagaland with “false claims, untruths and wild allegations.”
NPF Women wing stated that those at the rebel camp were doing more harm than good to their own personal integrity and reputation in the eyes of the general public.
Stating that as moth
rs, they were also seriously concerned with reports of illegal arms given to young boys who are reportedly entrusted to provide “security cover” to the confined Legislators, the women wing said if such reports were true, this would have grave ramifications on the society.
The women wing therefore requested the leaders of the rebel group to “immediately stop such dangerous activities.”
