Taking the fight for claiming legitimacy over the NPF the party under Noke Wangnao and legislature under G.Kaito Aye has submitted petitions before the Election Commission of India (ECI) New Delhi Friday with copies to the Chief Electorl Office, Nagaland.
In a statement, press and media cell, informed ECI and CEO that a new NPF president was elected and former removed as per laid down norms and procedures of the NPF constitution. The media cell said the ECI was also informed that Noke Wangnao “is the legitimate president of the NPF” and that the ‘Cock’ symbol and party nomenclature “rightfully belongs to the NPF” under Noke’s leadership.
The media cell also informed that both petitions have been officially received by the Election Commission and CEO, Nagaland offices.
It may be mentioned that on january 19, NPF (Noke-Kaito) delegation led by Lok Sabha MP, Neiphiu Rio; Rajya Sabha MP, Khekiho Zhimomi; working president Nozuta Swuro and adviser and retired chief secretary Alemtemshi Jamir called on Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) in New Delhi.
Show cause notices
Further, the press and media cell also disclosed, that show cause notices on why disciplinary action should not be taken against T.R. Zeliang, Yitachu, Y. Patton, C.L.Johan and Kiyanilie Peseyie. The media cell said if the responses of the above were not satisfactory, then the Disciplinary Action Committee of its party would initiate appropriate disciplinary action against them.
