Twenty one NPF legislators from Kaito’s group would be attending the seventh (emergent) session of the 12th Nagaland Legislative Assembly summoned by the governor of Nagaland P B Acharya on February 5 at 9:30 a.m. at the Assembly Hall, Kohima.
This special session will be held exactly a month after the crisis which began on January 4 and first reported by Nagaland Post on January 5.
Talking to Nagaland Post, one of the legislators from Kaito’s group denied reports that refused to receive the official notification to attend the assembly since they were contemplating not to attend.
Terming the reports as “blatant lie”, the source confirmed that all the legislators have received their official copies and were prepared to attend the session and that the result would be on “head count”.
On talks that they (Kaito’s group) have made a “deal” with Congress to form the government, the source while not accepting nor denying said “I don’t think so; for us we are just watching”. While accepting that the outcome would depend on which group had larger number , the source said so far BJP legislators have said that they would maintain neutrality. The source added that BJP would wait and watch which group Congress would extend its support and then decide on voting.
