NPF Phek division has resented the decision of chief minister T.R. Zeliang not to include any Chakhesang elected representatives in the cabinet for which it said that the party men and women “restricted” their representatives to participate in the swearing in ceremony held on May 8 so as to “register” their resentment.
In a press release issued by NPF Phek division advisors, Vehushu Medeo, Vesayo Puro and Welo said that Phek district has often been described as “regional party bastion” and true to this description, the regional party candidates have always being elected to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly with overwhelming majority in successive elections.
NPF Phek division said that the Chakhesang elected representatives have always been part and parcel of the decision making processes in successive governments and the same of which was expected in the formation of the present government. However, to their utter surprise, the division said that the Chakhesangs have not been included in the cabinet. The NPF Phek division further stated “be that as it may, our loyalty with the party and government continues to be steadfast and unwavering”
